Letter from Olga Angerer to Marie Schiele

31st Oct. 18.
Dear Marie!
I have just read the obituary, which has shocked me very much, in the Viennese newspaper “Abendblatt” and I hurry to express my deeply felt condolences to you. Thus a talent for the future has passed and such a young marriage was abruptly torn asunder.
I am very distraught and I can hardly believe it. This horrible disease chooses young life and destroys so many. May the Heavens give you strength and instill courage into your soul to keep you for your daughters, who will be your comfort, for a long time to come.
This morning, unknowing, I wrote to Egon and yourself to express my condolences and
since I don’t know your address, I will write to his address once more. Dear Melanie [Schiele] has much sadness to bear once again, because I’m sure she loved her brother very much.
Many regards and, once more, my heartfelt condolences,
Sincerely,
your cousin
Olga Kussy
