Translation of the Transcription:
Dear K. R. I have to thank you again for recommending your lawyer to me. – What has
happened is appalling. – Some newspapers reported about an “abduction of a 14-year-old girl”, which is completely untrue. They say I met her on the ice, but I was never on the ice. They say I had taken a room at a Viennese hotel the same night that I visited you for the second time, on the 2nd night (23rd Nov.) etc. – What is true is that I met her here in N. [Neulengbach], because she was running after me; what is true is that she wanted to run away from home and told me she had a grandmother in Vienna etc.
I am curious to see how it all plays out. 125 of my drawings have been confiscated, by a gendarme and a police officer, of course, very telling. – I have been summoned for
Saturday. This is what I can tell you so far. – Of course, I am greatly hindered in my work. – I have sent you the Austrian magazine in which a new reporter is writing
about the Hagenbund and myself. The WW [Wiener Werkstätte] have acquired
the trees with the sun at the Hagenbund. – How are you, if you are feeling any better,
do write to me; if you do not want to pose for me for a painting now I would like to
get started on Karli [Karl Reininghaus, son of the recipient] is that alright? – It would be very nice of you if you could send me the remaining sum for the wooden picture
which is 110 c [crowns] because otherwise I have to keep relying on advance payments from the Hagenbund. And they keep talking to me about my patron, people are disgusting. – What have you drawn so far? I am very curious! – Write to me if you feel like it.
Kind regards,
Egon Schiele
Neulengbach.
