4th Nov. 1918.

Dearest Madam,
the grave and terrible loss that has befallen you has shaken all of us to the core who had hoped for great and beautiful things in Egon Schiele’s future. We are grieving with you and I hope you will let me express my condolences to you, felt with all my heart.
