Postcard from Josefine Harms to Edith Schiele
29th Aug. 1916
(Weitersfeld 1850–1936 Vienna)
(Vienna1893–1918 Vienna)
Translation of the Transcription:
Dear Edith! I got your package and its endearing content. Wool and longer letter to follow, D. [Adele Harms] is too busy, but the opening will not be held until 1st Sept.[ember] The handymen won’t deliver, the carpenter is the main culprit
The laborer has been here since Wednesday, to D.’s greatest distress she is useless. The apprentice did not even show up, would be needed now to do the hallways, it all doesn’t help to get things ready. Dear Ditterle, you can send me the soap, I need it too urgently, send it unpaid if only soon; Egon’s card has just arrived, of course D. will get everything. She has been at the store since morning, the carpenter is hanging the mirrors. [?] Don’t let yourself get bored, there would be enough to do here. Best regards and kisses d. M. [your Mother]
