Translation of the Transcription:
30th June
Dear Mr. [Richard] Lanyi! – You promised me you would buy the painting for yourself and I expect you to keep your promise. – As it is, various complications might arise which could be prevented, – as you know, the painting was claimed before in 1914 and it is not impossible that we might hear from the former buyer even now. – She will get another work at any rate and I will tell her that I sold the painting for a better price, i.e. 1500 c. [crowns] – instead of 1200 because I did not know who the buyer was. Please be careful, for your own sake. Send a portfolio to A. [Adalbert Franz] Seligmann and to [crossed out: the W] Felix Braun at once. The Wiener-Werkstätte picture postcards etc.
Best regards, EGON
