Letter from Egon Schiele to Carl Reininghaus
1st Jul. 1913
(Graz 1857–1929 Vienna)
(Tulln 1890–1918 Vienna)
Translation of the Transcription:
Tuesday, 1st July 1913
Dear Mr. Reininghaus! I received your letter today, was in Vienna, and was sure I would meet you there. – However, if you would be so kind as to inform me 2 days in advance, I shall be in Vienna at the arranged time. I sent you the promised preparatory sketches for the Stein paintings as a keepsake, it is always nice to remember, as well as a poster and a catalogue for my current exhibition in Munich, Odeonsplatz. Perhaps you can see the exhibition if you come via Munich! – My previous letter is rather important; it says, among other things, that I ask for 600 K [crowns] for the double portrait and a landscape – I believe this is what I wrote. For my part, this offer still stands, even if you agree to 600 K for just the double portrait. – I hope that you will arrive in Vienna fit as a fiddle!
Kindest regards, Egon Schiele.
