Translation of the Transcription:
28th September 1918.
Dear Madam – many thanks for your kind, promising letter, – unfortunately, I only came back to Vienna the day before yesterday (Thursday) in the evening, so that I was unable to ring the requested phone number, and thus presume to ask what the relevant people said with regards renting the Klimt house. In the near future, it will unfortunately be impossible for me to accept your invitation to come to O. W. [Oberwaltersdorf], as we must finally get on with our exhibition in Wiesbaden and our Sonderbund. Perhaps dear madam is coming to Vienna again? – The drawings created by you and Mr. [Heinrich] Schröder have been returned from Prague and are being kept by Mr. [Gustav] Nebehay. Expecting further kind communication from you, I send you my best regards and remain faithfully yours,
