EGON SCHIELE, VIENNA, 13TH DISTRICT, WATTMANNGASSE 6

27th October 1918.
Dear Mrs. Koller, – thank you very much for your kind missive. – Unfortunately, however, the situation has become much worse, as continuous, overwhelming nausea and great difficulties in breathing persist. Edith [Schiele, née Harms] has been given injections yesterday and today; today or tomorrow will decide her fate. – I am prepared for the worst, since her condition keeps deteriorating.
