Translation of the Transcription:

Baden [near] Vienna
17th Sept. [19]15.

Dear Mr. Schiele!
Have received your kind letter. Unfortunately, there is nothing our director can
do. Any favors can only be considered for army suppliers that are indispensable. The military authorities are very strict now and a matter of production is completely impossible. Since you are only partially fit for service, I believe it is impossible that you will be sent to the battlefield. I have been in Baden for 5 days, because of the fine weather, and am painting as well as I can; anything I have created so far has been appalling, at any rate.

Many regards!
Your friend
Böhler
