Translation of the Transcription:

Berlin-Westend, Leistikowstr. 6.
19th April 1915.

Dear Mr. Schiele!

I have been informed by [Arthur] Roessler that you plan to move to Berlin in the autumn. Let me quickly remind you that two years ago, in the summer, I kept you waiting for me in vain. While this happens often, it shouldn’t; but if it happens, it’s best not to bear any ill will! I trust you will come and find me when you are here! Or you might even write to me to say when you are coming? Please do! –
Every one of us is right to leave our sad little country. It is too bad for the little country, God knows! But it is too bad for us too. And so we leave for places we believe will be better for us. It’s pretty tough for us here too, like it is everywhere. But at least here, people keep their word one time more often than back home, and that in itself is a lot! And there aren’t quite as many halfwits here as there are in our home country. –
Landsturmmann Roessler also wanted to become a Berliner at one time. But then the War happened. Now he is crying with one and a half eyes, while half an eye has a bellicose glint in it.
Dear Mr. Schiele, one of your fellow countrymen lives here, who is looking forward to another one coming. He sends his regards and goes by the name of
Karl von Felner
