Letter from Anton Faistauer to Egon Schiele
17th Aug. 1918
(St. Martin near Lofer 1887–1930 Vienna)
(Tulln 1890–1918 Vienna)
Translation of the Transcription:
Dear Schiele,
I have, thank God, been in the countryside for a week now, and have begun my work. I am feeling very content with it. With regards the portrait exhibition, I have written to [Richard] Harlfinger, and have also referred to you. [Anton] Kolig wrote to me that he would like to have some of your works (landscapes and portraits) sent to Klagenfurt. If it is at all possible for you, send them. You will be reimbursed for any freight charges. Have you heard anything from [Karl] Stemolak? It would be good if the pact could be concluded. With regards the painting for [Karl] Grünwald, I ask you to keep it for the time being and, should you find a buyer, to sell it for 1,000 crowns. Please send the remaining 300 crowns for drawings to this address and write to me about the current goings-on.
Sending kind regards to you and your wife,
yours, Faistauer
