Vienna
Postcard from Anton Peschka to Egon Schiele
1915
(Vienna 1885–1940 Vienna)
(Tulln 1890–1918 Vienna)
Translation of the Transcription:
Dear Egon!
My last evening in Teresienstadt! – I am thinking of you! – Krumau is similar to this old town of Leitmerik! – And this evening resembles similar evenings I have spent with you in Krumau! – This afternoon I played skittles with our officers.
The Deutschmeister regiment is popular anywhere
The lazy bastards that always lose track
The “Viennese” we are called despicably by the Philistines and everyone! – And
yet they are looking to associate with us.
I hope I will be able to write to you from Gablenz conveniently very soon! – Give my
best regards to Mr. Benesch and Wally – your wife etc.
Unfortunately I am always lacking metal – but you know – I am a commendable boy –
Yours, Ant [Anton] Peschka
