Unfortunately not on display at the moment
Egon Schiele (1890–1918) used the reverse of a map of the region extending from Dresden to Prague as a substrate on which he created a number of sketches. While the architectural sketches remain vague and make it impossible to identify the building whose layout he sketched, Schiele’s fashion designs below are more detailed: slightly overlapping, the discernible images include the sketch of a jacket, details of a trouser leg and a shoe as well as several smaller sketches which are only roughly executed. The faceless figure to the left is especially remarkable, as are the two miniatures in the lower right corner, which recall a series of fashion designs by Schiele dating from 1910. Schiele had created those designs, including the Self-Portrait in a White Suit with Panama Hat, for the Wiener Werkstätte – they were never executed, however.
