Unfortunately not on display at the moment
The actress Käthe Richter (1893–1969) belonged to the circle of friends and acquaintances surrounding Oskar Kokoschka (1886–1980) in Dresden and frequently took leading roles in performances of his theatrical plays.
The artist also repeatedly portrayed Richter together with the Expressionist playwright Walter Hasenclever (1890–1940), for instance in Friends or Lovers with Cat. In this composition, Kokoschka shows Richter dressed in a negligee and seated in an armchair. The graphic work was presumably created in the context of the similarly composed painting Katja (1918).
