Unfortunately not on display at the moment
Tina Blau-Lang (1845-1916), as a significant representative of Atmospheric Impressionism, was especially renowned for her landscapes, which she painted around Vienna and on her numerous travels. In 1904, the artist set off for a longer stay up North and stopped in Hamburg, Copenhagen as well as the Netherlands, amongst other places. In the next four years Blau-Lang would repeatedly return to Dordrecht, where she made the shipyard subject of her painting in 1908. The left half of the picture is dominated by a wooden ship placed on supports, which two workers are preparing for the next swell. To the right of it Dordrecht’s harbour as well as the Grote Kerk [Church of Our Lady] can be seen.
