Dear!
The following:
Egon Schiele born on 12 June 1890 in Tulln
Lower Austria; unsuitable pupil
at all schools. At 16 I entered
the Academy in Vienna was nat-
urally regarded as crazy and my
presence met with hostility. After I
exhibited at the second intern. art exhibition [Internationale Kunstschau]
in Vienna in 1909 I was severely
persecuted at the Academy. Deputations
because of me at the Academy, conflicts,
etc. – I realized that
some of my colleagues had special
talents; I tried to leave
the Academy with them
and founded a group of young
artists under the name
“Neukunst Wien" [New Art Vienna]. [There] ensued
personal arguments with my
colleagues, so I declared
my resignation. At that time
“Neukunst Wien" went to Prague where I
was still represented. – Later some
of my colleagues exhibited with Oskar Kokoschka
at the Hagenbund. – Although I had
the strongest intention to create
one art coalition here,
it was nipped in the bud, made impossible.
– Afterwards I exhibited collectively
a few times or one or several paintings.
Hunting exhibition – Kunstschau division,
collective exhibition at Miethke’s, at Putze in Munich
and at the Hagenbund in Vienna, Sema
Munich foreseeable
Most sincerely Egon Schiele.
