To Mr. Egon Schiele, at present in Bregenz on Lake Constance.

Honored Mr. Schiele,
Your “Dead City” arrived here a while ago. It is my intention to look again at the pictures now in Cologne and then make you a proposal. Regrettably, I have not been able to get away yet. I hope, however, that it will be possible for me in the next 14 days.
